Hazen Road in Shirley is named for the Hazen family, who were early settlers in the area and built mills on Catacunemaug Brook around 1748. Samuel Hazen, the first to build a mill in Shirley Village, is also referenced in relation to the Hazen Memorial Library. The road itself is an old pathway that followed the course of the Mulpus Brook and Catacunemaug Brook, connecting early settlement sites and the mills built by the Hazen family and others. This Hazen Road unique antique two family could be easily converted back to a large single family. The home is placed on an acre level lot with a large storage shed. The original home was built circa 1799. The exterior has painted shingles. There is a laundry room on the back of the home. The first floor has a private large bedroom, as well as two other generously sized bedrooms, large family room which opens into the kitchen. The second unit has one bedroom, large living room, kitchen and full bath.
